Dad was a problem drinker, in my earlier Recollections he would take a look at the bar two or a few nights each week. He would usually arrive dwelling seriously drunk. From time to time he was a violent, necessarily mean, indignant drunk. I recall viewing him get off his shoe and fling it at my mom.
